ABOUT US

We are a small chapter of the Ninety-Nines, consisting of around 30 members. We are committed to educating, helping our local community, and preserving the spirit of aviation.

Who We Are

The Ninety-Nines are an international group of licensed and prospective women pilots who come together for community, financial support, and resources.

The Katahdin Wings are one of three chapters in the New England Section of the Ninety-Nines, along with the Eastern New England and Connecticut chapters. We cover Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, and boast members from all around the three states!

What We Do

Our mission is to promote the advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight. Our members present at local schools, summer camps, and aviation events, sharing their knowledge of our history as women pilots. The mentorship amongst the chapter is exceptional, as we have members from all different generations and backgrounds sharing stories and experiences. We also offer scholarships to members going through their training, to ease the financial burden of aviation.

Why We Do It

We are a diverse group of aviators encompassing many professions – from airline pilots and CFIs (certified flight instructors)  to doctors, artists, photographers, teachers, public servants, business owners, and parents – united by our shared mission to advance women in aviation. We are united in that passion and want nothing more than to share it, to inspire others so that they too can find their place in the sky.
