CHAPTER CHAIR

Casey is a 20-year-old CFI (certified flight instructor), who holds both her land airplane and seaplane ratings.

She started flying at age 15, and it was far from a straight path. A worldwide pandemic, diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes, typical snowy Maine weather, she persevered through it all.

She found the Ninety-Nines while looking for a female community to share her achievements and goals with, and is incredibly grateful for the support and mentorship she found here.

Outside of aviation, she enjoys both dancing and curling up with a good book!

CHAPTER VICE CHAIR

Eva Murray lives year-round on Matinicus Island, where she serves as Town Clerk, Emergency Management Director, Solid Waste Coordinator and truck driver, and EMT. She also runs a seasonal bakery, works for the island’s electric utility, and is a regular columnist for several Maine publications.

A private pilot since 2016, she is a perpetual student and is now working on her instrument rating. Eva does not own an airplane.

CHAPTER TREASURER

I have been a member of The 99s in the Katahdin Wings Chapter since 2001. In the chapter I have served as secretary, vice chair, chair and now I am serving as treasurer. I served as secretary, vice governor and governor of the New England Section; and I am currently chair of the International Publications Committee, responsible for coordinating the stories that appear the bi-monthly Ninety-Nines magazine.

I have enjoyed many opportunities to represent The 99s at airport open house events in Maine and New Hampshire, and participate with the local ACE Camp programs as a women in aviation history educator. Other highlights of my membership with The 99s has been traveling worldwide to meet our 99s sisters during international conferences and section meetings.

While the opportunity to pursue aviation as a career was not in cards, I have made the most of my 99s membership by staying active at the chapter and section levels and proudly encourage all women to pursue their flying dreams as well as join The 99s!
