Join the Aviatrix Book Club this month to discuss our very own Mary Build’s memoir Finding Myself in Aviation.
Finding Myself in Aviation is about so much more than flying. It chronicles one woman’s journey of discovery from an abusive childhood to finally finding freedom in the skies. Mary Build’s story is an inspiration to anyone who has wondered what their true purpose is in life, while her adventures as a pilot will keep you on the edge of your seat.
About the Literary Aviatrix Podcast
Liz Booker is a retired U.S. Coast Guard helicopter pilot and foreign diplomat, and a writer for young adults crafting fiction to inspire the next generation of women in aviation. During her 28-year career, she flew the H65 Dolphin (AS365) helicopter on search and rescue, law enforcement and humanitarian missions around the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific Ocean, and served as the senior U.S. Defense Official to seven Eastern Caribbean Island Nations.
Since retiring, she has built a community of readers and writers around stories featuring women in aviation as Literary Aviatrix on social media, and with the Aviatrix Book Club and Literary Aviatrix website, YouTube Channel, and podcast. She continues to fly recreationally, a.k.a. ‘research’.
