Reach for the Stars: Celebrating Christa McAuliffe

  • McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center 2 Institute Drive Concord, NH, 03301 United States (map)

The series marks the 40th anniversary of the Challenger disaster and honors Christa McAuliffe, the STS-51L crew, and the enduring legacy of the Teacher in Space Project.

Highlights include special planetarium programming, a January 28 anniversary event featuring NASA astronaut Ricky Arnold (who carried Christa’s Lost Lessons to space), the unveiling of a new Christa McAuliffe exhibit, a live panel discussion with local and national voices, and a one-night immersive performance, CHALLENGER: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe presented by History at Play on January 31.

We hope that this series resonates strongly with educators, families, lifelong learners, and especially those who remember watching the Challenger launch in 1986. We would be grateful for your help in sharing this meaningful remembrance with the New Hampshire community and surrounding region.
